On August 25th, the Brett #5 “Mirna Martinez” School was completed. Brett’s light continues to shine on in the lives of thousands of children in Nicaragua who attend schools built in memory of her. This was the fifth school built by the Crawford family and named in Brett’s honour.
The school was a labour of love for this amazing community of the Valle de las Americas, as the children were previously learning in a makeshift shack built out of wood and metal by their parents. The school moved several times and never had a permanent home.
At the inauguration ceremony, community members were all smiles and joy as they gathered to celebrate their new school made possible by the generosity and fundraising of the Brett Bentley Crawford Foundation.
